Hundreds of top cross-industry service, support, and customer success leaders gathered at The Service Council’s Smarter Services Symposium in Chicago on September 16-18. This year’s theme focused on the company-wide cultural philosophy which recognizes the role and importance of service on humanity looking beyond traditional operational metrics. Astea was proud to sponsor two interactive sessions at this year’s event and was delighted to have several of our customers lead two interactive discussions. We had a full house for our roundtable discussion led by our customers Giant Eagle and Scientific Games. The conversation focused on one of the biggest challenges service organizations are currently facing: growing skilled labor gap. As the aging workforce continues to retire, field service organizations are faced with the challenge of attracting and retaining the next generation of workers. During the discussion, Giant Eagle, Scientific Games as well as several other service providers in the room, shared the challenges faced by their organizations and their strategies for recruiting and on-boarding the millennial workforce to support technology innovation and business growth.

In this interactive panel discussion, Darlene Stonewall and Adam Heaney of Park Place Technologies dove into the topic of mining data from Astea’s field service management software, Alliance Enterprise, to enable change management and improve service delivery. Natalie Chury and Nicol Reeves of ABM discussed how they infuse the voice of data into their organization by applying data to change efforts internally to affect external user experience (UX) and customer experience (CX).
